cant argue with moses on that one, until the Force have real WA players in there S14 side they are just going to be relying on the other states to develop there talent for them.

P.S. Quick squiz of the team sheet says Qld have no reason to be more outraged than anyone else these days...it'll take time, but it'll even out, we'll have home-growns, imports, players who moved in the hope of being picked up, a-la Chucky.

TOCC-can you define what a S14 player is, if they're not someone whos played S14- 3 of those named there have.

If we had decades worth of history like Queensland and NSW then we probably wouldn't need to recruit from the East.

WA has talent but due to there not being a level of rugby higher than the local club competitions (in the past), WA players didn't have something further to aim for and left WA. Eastern States clubs got all our local talent before the Force, purely because we didnt have any further they could go in the state. If we had a program around for them, I'm sure they would have stayed. Prime example; John Welbourn who left, reached Super-14 level and came back when we had somewhere for him to play at the same level.

With the inception of the Force more of the WA boys will get a run and a chance to represent their state. At the moment we only have 2 WA boys in the squad (Dane Haylett-Petty and Kieran Longbottom) but if you look at the acadmy and all the WA boys in there, we have a future and its bright.

WA rugby existed before the Force....we have the same level of history as the East but we had to deal with AFL being the number one sport, we had no room to grow like QLD and NSW....

TOCC, how about Sheehan? He's from Geraldton in WA. Now apologise.

Sorry should have clarified, I meant at Super14 level.
I know there has been rugby in WA well before the Force but there was never an opportunity to represent the state at the same level of Super14. Under 21's and state representation at school level were about it really.

By that logic, your team is as littered with non-super 14 players as ours!

and only a slightly higher percentage of "real" super 14 players who can call themselves home-grown....not bad for over 100 years as the premier code in the state!

DO the Brumbies cop as much flak for their players not all coming from Canberra?
I'm not a big believer in the idea that all the players in a super14 team must come from that particular state, I prefer to think that if WA can develop an equal proportion of players to the other states that go on to super14 level regardless of the team they represent then the Force will have been an outstanding success.

They get around it with dodgy border claims over the southern third of NSW.
