Wallabies set to base themselves in Christchurch for 2011 World Cup

ROBBIE Deans will enjoy a World Cup homecoming to Christchurch in 2011 with the Wallabies pencilled in to base their campaign in the New Zealand city.

Preliminary allocations by tournament organisers are understood to have Deans' home city down as Australia's allocated headquarters for pool games, and for a possible quarter-final.

A Christchurch base could give the Wallabies a "home" ground advantage in any game they played there because of Deans' huge popularity in the region to which he brought five Super rugby titles.

The South Island is the best choice & Ch Ch is a great base. Plenty to see but I dunno whether there'll be a lot of skiable snow come RWC time.

Been to Christchurch and its a great little place with a excellent stadium. Hate to say it but the South Island is beautifull with the best sports bar ive ever seen seen..The Holy Grail which makes the Carbon Bar look like a bowling club, in down town Christchurch is awesome.
