Wellington dance troupe Real Hot Bitches are going to attempt to break their own world record for most people dancing to a synchronised routine, in Christchurch tomorrow.

Dance spokeswoman Candy La Coque said 30 "bitches" would be landing in full costume in the garden city at 9am.

They then want Cantabrians to join them for rehearsals during the day with the official record breaking attempt to begin at 7pm in Cathedral Square.

Miss La Coque said she hoped to encourage 3000 people to join them in a synchronised dance routine to Bon Jovi's song Shot Through the Heart.

"We want everybody in Christchurch to come down and bust out the moves with us."

The group set the record last year in Wellington at the Cuba Street festival with about 1800 people joining them in a synchronised dance, Miss La Coque said.

She said as far as she was aware nobody else had tried mass synchronised dancing.
