How many times is it filled apart from Derbies and Rugby internationals? One thing I'm certain of is that the facilities need improving.

That's not easy to guess either. But I reckon Rugby WA would prefer the surety of 28,000-odd at almost every match to the uncertainty of falling membership numbers and possibly average crowds at Subiaco.
My comment in response to both of these points would be that ANY move to MES would be couched in the assumption that Corporate seats were taken care of and capacity sits at around 25K If either of these eventualities go belly up I'd say the are stupid to move.....but with the ASSUMPTION that the same number and quality of coporate seats and 25,000 seats exist I can't see how a ground which handles our big ticket customers as well, handles all but our biggest four or five crowds and is pretty much full for our smallest crowd would cause us to lose money.....surely saving the million dollar a round rent will help RugbyWA's ledger don't you think? Rent at MES would be 1/4 of the rent at Subi because MES is run by a corporation and that makes it suffer the competition of an open market......The addition of enough facilities for MES to host home games would be of benefit to RugbyWA whether they move or not, simply by removing the monopoly that WAFC currently have on open air grass stadia which can hold 20,000 people or more.

The rent might just go down to the point where RugbyWA can afford to build it's own headquarters since the State Government doesn't seem to be capable!

Subi is the worst ground to watch rugby in the world lets move to MES. the one game watched there force vs samoa a few years ago was awesome. Even if we played there a couple a times a year against the smaller crowd drawing teams.

unfortunately that isnt an option due to there not being enough corporate facilities at MES, and even for the smaller crowds MES doesnt have the capacity, i think the smallest crowd this year was about 21-22,500 with MES only holding 18,000.

Subi is crap for Rugby though, i like where your heads at, but for RugbyWA the numbers just wouldn't add up at the moment

Have to agree, Bruce stadium's cheapest seats are much better than most at Subi; As for the good seats.... woah!

Well, the chance is there now for all to find out if we sell out the Crusaders practice match.

Whatever the venue, a practice game will never come close to selling the same number of seats as a Super 14 game. It will however give those that are aware of our plight for a rectangular stadium some more insight into what they are missing at Subiaco, which will hopefully in turn put more pressure on the powers that be to do something about it...
