I know not everyone is interested in this competition - however I urge you to read the article - it's fantastic, tongue in cheek etc.. and we could do with more of this type of write up here in OZ - oh and best of all this is the first article in a while that doesn't say Gits is leaving the - just added that bit in case anyone was worried.
First blood to Munster
WE EXPECTED a belter of a local derby in this season’s first rugby Battle of Ireland, and they didn’t disappoint.
With an 18-0 shutout, Munster defeated Leinster in the Magners League in Dublin for first time since September 2003 after a high octane, no-nonsense tussle last night.
Suggestions that Leinster’s two wins over Munster last season might come back to haunt them were on the money. Munster got their anger levels up, but it was controlled aggression as they shut out their great adversaries on their home patch, and Leinster interestingly — or worryingly — became the third Irish province to be held scoreless this weekend.
