Rookie Aus S14 players to watch in 2009

Rookie S14 players to watch in 2009

    Brumbies: Lealifano

    Force: JOC, Wykes and Pocock

Reds: Lucas, Cooper and Davies or Toua(whoever gets chosen for fullback)

    Waratahs: Kepu, Beale and Turner

some of them aren't really rookies anymore, but im using the theory that they are still early in there careers with so much development ahead they are practically rookies.

a rookie is a inexperienced player basically, theres no exact definition of when you go from being a inexperienced player to a experienced player

I think Dane H-P should be in there for the Force too. Pocock's a pretty accomplished player and has definately made his mark (therefore not so much of a rookie), I think next year he will continue to grow, but Dane will too and I think a few more games next season will see him put his stamp on the game. So I say swap Pocock for Dane H-P.

I think the spring tour will make the difference to Pococks rookie status one way or another...

Valentine's a rookie? You know he's got 50 odd Super Caps and 4 Wallaby caps right?

I'll be keenly watching Tahu, Ratu, Horne, Kepu, Kimlin, Lucas, Davies, JOC and Faingaa

In terms of how he returns to super 14 after being shunted to Randwick by the Tahds.

Valentine isn't a rookie, granted he is a new player at the Force but he should bring a bit of expieriance to the team and should slot in quite easily, definately none of Henjaks mistakes from season 1 of the Force

12 games or less? Take out Valentine then.

I just thought he'd be someone to keep an eye on. You know, with how much he's got prove, 4 cap wallaby then back to 1st grade now he gets another chance.

I'd have to agree with Laura and say regardless of the spring tour Pocock isn't a rookie...i think the spring tour will affect confirm whether he'll be one of the greats rather than confirm whether he can play...

I dont see Dane getting a game next year if we have a full uninjured team.
You get Mitchell, Sare and Cummins on the wings, and if Peter Playford does sign, another one to come. Dane would be pretty fortunate to get a game next year.

I would add Hockings to the list. He's an amazing player and will be getting a call up to wallabies in a couple of years.

The word rookie is a corruption of recruit, so how long can you continue to be a recruit?
