Battlers for World Youth Tournament

Meanwhile, the ARU and the NSWRU have combined to launch a fund-raising campaign to help a team of high school battlers from Sydney's south-west to play at the World Youth Tournament in Japan next year.

Rugby only started at Prairiewood High at Wetherill Park in 2000 and three years later it finished in the final of the Waratah Shield.
The ARU and NSW have each donated $10,000 to help Prairiewood raise the $70,000 needed.

This story was featured on the news here in Sydney yesterday. The squad and part of the senior class are already training 3 times a week before and after school for the tournament in Japan next year.

Parents (some are single parent families) are doing extra shifts to help raise the money.

Its just a thought but perhaps the next time TWF do a meat tray raffle we could send some cash to the boys to help them on their way.

It's a great concept Ex however I'm sure if TWF ever had any extra folding we could find a cause closer to home to help.

I'd have thought GTT would have jumped at the chance to expose (?) themselves to potential new members.
