i think a big factor in a new member being intimidated is the fact that we are all pretty good friends. and perhaps we give off a 'clique' vibe.
new members could feel intimidated in joining up because they are afriaid of being shunned by the entire group.

I agree, I only joined at the beginning of this year and at first it wasn't so much intimidating as trying to see where you fit. I guess the best way to see that is to put your opinion out there, there's at least 1 person who will agree you with you, then come on down to the bowlo (if you're in Perth) and meet everyone, bring a friend if you're unsure, and then you'll fit right in...oh and if you drink Magners/Guinness (or anything really) you'll be sweet as, so long as you like the Force too!!

This is arguably one of the best rugby supporters website you will come across and knocks spots off any available in South Africa and sets a new bench mark for Supporters Clubs to emulate. but kudos to you, you stayed around. and now are an invaluable part of TWF.
hopefully more people can follow the example we have all set at one time or another and hang around for the forst month or so until we all get used to a new member and expand the TWF "family"

Congrats all round, and a special one for Coach. I thought that you were a rather welcoming bunch, but Aussies always give each other a bit of niggle and as a bit of a guess, others might not get that it is just light hearted fun.

I wouldn't use the word intimidated as I don't know the meaning of it.

When I first arrived and started putting my opinion out there and got shot down a few times I was like, sweet people who are as passionate about the game as me and I was hooked.

Great site, I can't praise the site and the regulars enough.

Theres a sense of humour on this site and maybe it's a rugby fan thing but I find myself constantly having a chuckle each day.
