I probably wouldn't have liked it much either if I had got stuck in the zoo sucking ass for a week.

Confirmation of dates would be great as I could possibly do that one.

Keep Mrs J's panties on girlfriend - I appreciate the thought.

Its probably the best option. I also have some VirginBlue frequent flyer points I could use for the trip to Melbourne and back. Will have to have a closer look when the net gets reconnected at the new place

The only indication to date -
The tournament, scheduled to start in late July will last a week, and in future years Greening hopes the event will feature the Super 14 and European champions by invitation
As for internationals, the deal is/was that the teams would turn up with full strength squads which means that since there isn't international duty at the end of July ...........

    We did this before!
    http://www.visitsingapore.com/publis...22&eventType=1

Not sure how four teams will play in two days, but they are non-consecutive days.

    WJ,
    • From memory it is a bye week for Australia, but I wouldn't expect to see Wallabies (although fringe players might be available, I suppose).
    • WF players have the option of playing for their clubs in the East this year, so I guess they will just have to factor this into their thinking.
    • The competition is invitational, although I thought I read somewhere that the Force will be there for the first few years because they helped set it up - I might be mistaken though. No doubt if it turns into a nice little earner, the ARU will go to the organisers and have a whinge on behalf of everybody else.

Little personal note to the ARU - wow, Qantas, British Airways and Jetstar on board as partners, naming rights sponsors being sought and live broadcasting organised...guess that is how the professionals do it!

I know Singapore reasonably well (from what I can remember of my frequent visits there). This has the makings of a tax-deductible expense too.

Surely that means that there'd be cheaper airfares available for those with match tickets?!?!?!

That would have been nice - but no, just never went anywhere that didn't have happy hour or cheap drinks on, and when the cheap drinks finished, we moved to the next place with cheap drinks happening! Very well planned!

I did some pricing at various locations. outside of the syd->per flight, a per->sin->syd flight set is around $1100.

Apparently accomodation isn't cheap in Singapore though
Tiger Airlines online are great for cheap flights from Perth to Singapore - can be $125 each way (including all fees & taxes) for flights during the week. The arrival times into Singapore aren't the best though - around 2.30am.

That's a great time to arrive JB! Everyone is still out and all the cafes/restaurants are still open. You just kick on and don't bother sleeping!
