Doubtful: Thorn may miss the clash against the Brumbies

The Crusaders face an anxious wait over Brad Thorn and Leon MacDonald, both of whom picked up injuries at the weekend.

Todd Blackadder, the Crusaders' new coach, saw his side start the season with a 19-13 win over the Chiefs, but Thorn and MacDonald both left the field carrying injuries.

Blackadder says it is a very unusual for Thorn to have any injury complaints. He says the lock has a bruised heel, they are not sure how serious it is and will monitor it.

As for MacDonald, who is only just back in action after several head injuries, he has a shoulder injury and is rated as doubtful for Saturday's clash with the Brumbies.

Blackadder says Stephen Brett could be an easy replacement in the full-back jersey. Sean Maitland is again unlikely to be fit due to a hamstring injury.
