How about some running rugby from the attack coach?

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

Interesting. We are in a tight spot. On the one hand some of us would love to see JO'C being thrown in at 10 but with JO'C being out of contract end of this season there is no guarantee whether he'll stay and thus a wasted strategy (if he leaves as well) and from what I've read of/from him in the past, 12 seems to be his preferred.

The other issue is that while we would like to see if JO'C has the goods, it would be a little bit of a drama to move Gits from 10 to 12 in the wake of this announcement. Not good politics (lets not be naive).

What may happen is that JO'C @ 12 may receive the ball more often as first receiver which not only will continue to build his confidence but also is a worthwhile strategy in as far as keeping the opposition guessing (though I'm surprised he wasn't used much at first receiver this past game but I'll need to watch the game again to be sure).

Hardly... Its currently Stirlo, it will be Lealifano at 10 that will be more likely to lose out, or Frankie on the wing. The Brumbies have a little bit of an over-abundance of centres...

Depending on what their contracts are like it's hard to see the Brumbies being able to retain all of Toomua, Giteau and Lealiifano. But supposing they did JO'C definitely wouldn't see enough game time there. That really only leaves the Tahs and the Reds and I don't think either of them could offer him a starting spot.

With the bottom falling out of the real estate market,he would probably take a loss on it. Wait a couple of years and he will make money on it!

    Good point Slomo.

This clearly had an impact on the team on Friday night.

The media in Sydney knew about Giteau leaving before anyone in Perth.

Read the Oz articles in Saturdays paper. Clearly they were tipped off so the Brumbies could be blamed for being the bad guys.

It looks to me that Wayne Smith from the Oz was tipped off by ET Mining. If ET Mining knew their offer had been rejected, they would have known. I dont think this was fair.

The article lacked a lot of objectivity. It left a lot of important facts out - I think the Sunday Times provided a little more honesty about the situtation.
Why did this happen? Poor PR i think.
