I get up early every day Around 5am so imagine with daylight saving I will have to get up at 4am
Imagine what time I will have to go to bed ???? the sun will still be above the horizon
Sorry but if the east wants to get on board then maybe they should do a daylight reverse

I agree with your sentiments. Day Shift is an 03:45 alarm for me - without DLS.

Don't ask me to make it harder so you can have some precious leisure time.

Whilst the trail of DLS was on I got up at 4am and started work at 5am.

    Still loved the concept

Didn't shift to office work until the last year of the trial

I'm genuinely confused by this. Why are you getting up an hour earlier with DLS?

The purpose of DLS is to increase the hours of daylight in the evening, so for today, when sunrise is 5.30 and sunset 6.30, it would be moved to sunrise at 6.30 and sunset at 7.30.

So why are you getting up an hour earlier, when the sun is rising an hour later?

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

Daylight saving is not compatible with the metric system.

In Western Australia DLS should be held between May and September so peopel can do things after work before it becomes to dark, our summer months have plenty of daylight to do things after a days labour.

Not if you don't get home from work until after 6!

Sheikh this argument has had me scratching my head as well.

I get up every morning at 4 to start work and when we had DSL I still got up at 4! Whats the problem?

    Now that's more like it!

What we need is to have 20 hour days and 10 days in a week, with 10 months in each year.

Then we could take it further and have 10 years in a decade..........

No, wait.. I'll work on that bit.

Just start with the 20 hour days and 10 days weeks for now. I'll be back with some more ponderings

The only way I can see you have an hour less sleep each day with DLS is if you go to sleep based on the time the sun sets (eg, sun set + 3 hours), but get up at a set time each day.

Jobs which required a certain level of daylight (eg, construction) would start work an hour later each day with DLS, not a hour earlier.

Jobs with set hours (offices, shops, etc) unless the opening hours change get shorter mornings and longer evenings with DLS.

Jobs where the time doesn't matter much (eg, farmers) shouldn't care. This is the group which always confused me with arguments against DLS (back in the UK, this was). Farmers claimed DLS upsets the milking of their cows. Just milk according to when the cows need milking, then!
