Nice try Gerry............thats almost as good as the farmers fed trying to get us to believe DLS has hurt the road toll!

Gotta give you points for the chuckle factor though.

If we were always meant to have daylight savings, clocks would have been made so they automatically went back and cavemen would have suddenly woken up an hour earlier between certain times of seasons (no clocks or calendars).

Seriously, though, this makes it harder for young children to settle into a proper sleeping pattern and makes life harder for people who get up early to deliver newspapers (like myself), go to work or whatever.

The newspapers delivery is a valid excuse, the young children getting to sleep is a myth perpetuated by those that don't have them. I have 3 girls betwen the ages of 4 and 8 (meaning they were 1 to 5 when it started) and DLS disrupts their sleep for only 1, maybe 2 nights.

I've heard school teachers moan about the fact that kids are turning up at school a bit tired because of daylight saving.

First, kids go to bed when their parents tell them to (aka wf2006).

Second, teachers reinforce the discipline that should be had at home.

So why does "kids turning up tired" even become a part of the debate ??

What really pi$$es me off is that some old women teachers are trying to use their job "and experience" as a reason why everyone should be voting "no" and don't even begin to understand that it's their approach to "discipline" that's the problem.

That should wind up a few ..............

+1 : kids go to bed when they are told, sun up or down.

everyone should vote no anyway. it's against the natural order of things!

Good on 'em - whatever works! Have you heard some of the tripe being dished up by the pro-DLSers? (no offense intended to connoisseurs of tripe)

Until said tripe involves exploiting the personal tragedies of road trauma victims, I think I'll stick with them anyway.
