The respectove parties should grow balls and make things such as DLS and extended trading hours election issues. If they get voted in, the have a mandate to enact the changes, if they don't, they know to leave the status quo for now.

Surely no-one can make DLS an election issue now - 4 times the people have said "no". That should now be so far beyond the backburner that it will take 10 or 15 years to come back.

Extended trading hours however - different story.
