    Reds look to Robinson

New South Wales flanker Beau Robinson is being courted by the Queensland Reds, with uncertainty over the 2010 plans of prized All Black Daniel Braid.

Robinson, 22, is off contract at the end of the year and is set to become a hot property, with Waratahs skipper Phil Waugh, Brumby George Smith and Braid all possibly heading overseas.

"Beau is someone we have watched for a couple of years and we have seen him come through the junior national sides," Reds coach Phil Mooney said. "He is certainly on the radar."

Despite the impending departure of Matt Giteau, in-form winger Nick Cummins said it was a no-brainer to re-sign with Western Force.

Does this mean that they may have given up on Brown and he may be staying with us?

I reckon Robinson would be a good fit at the Reds, though I doubt the Tahs will want to lose him if Waugh is on the move.

you would imagine that if Waugh does piss off to Europe the Tahs will throw the kitchen sink at Robinson to keep him

you wouldnt sign Brown as a openside flanker anyway

I rate Robinson, the reds chased him last year, tried to get NSW to release him to no avail. I think his a good young player, could fit in quite well.

Agreed, but where I was coming from was that with Higginbottom, Houston and Robinson as the proposed starters, the need for Brown diminishes (hopefully) slightly.

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
