“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

No but it might be the first time that a province with the greatest rugby culture and the greatest rugby development program in the universe, the least hindered by the establishment of a fourth franchise has done it.

Shasta-man.... The way I see it the Force owe the Brumbies three players a Flyhalf, Scrumhalf and a Flanker/No.8.... Then we're all square.... IF you can't supply a No.8 we’re happy to accept another back in JOC...

The ARU and NZRU are sounding like Melbourne will field a team with or without the South Africans in 2011... Force are the team which needs o buy in all its players…

Best get that big checkbook out Vern Reid and start signing because Melbourne will be on the player hunt soon...

A quick request - can we pleeeease change the title of this thread. Every time I see it I think it means Valentine's signed with the Brumbies, which causes a panic attack. Can we make it 'Some stupid journo thinks Valo's off to the Brumbies' or something please?

I really hope he doesn't go. He's a little fire-cracker! An exceptionally talented scrumhalf, though I didn't think last night was his best. A lovely guy and full of chrip

Any one see an attempt at a handbag war from his last night? I didn't spot any by him alone, but I think there was a little argy bargy and he got himself very involved.

The Navy will be deploying a Collins Class Sub to pick up the boys next month... and dropping them off at the Brumbies coastal training camp HMAS Creswell...

A Collins Class submarine is a long-range, multipurpose patrol submarine capable of both short duration coastal missions, and long-duration open sea defensive and offensive operations and picking up Super 14 Rugby players. The submarines have a patrol endurance of more than two months, most of the time submerged...

Mudskipper - that doesn't make sense (or I'm just stupid or it's a very sad attempt at a joke, which I still don't get so I guess I'm stupid). Please discuss Josh Valentine and his contract, not boats. They are hardly related topics.

It's official! Brumbies players have been informed that Josh Valentine has signed for 2010. No word on O'Connor yet
