I am willing to set up a corporate marquee at MES for next year. Should I buy a 4 man tent?

For our interstate friends - because I am sure all the Force supporters would have bought and read The West by now.

    $1M facelift for stadium.

    Dave Hughes

Rugby WA and Allia Holdings will jointly invest $1m this year to bring Members Equity Stadium to minimum Super 14 specification ahead of the move to the ground in 2010.

The state government is considering a $73m upgrade proposal from stadium owners and users but is unlikely to decide in time for a 2012 completion of the project.

"If the government doesn't commit by June, we're looking at a new grandstand opening for the 2013 season at best" said incoming RWA CEO Vern Reid yesterday.

"With at least 3 seasons to play at MES in the transition phase, we've no choice but to invest in necessary facilities.

The stadiums capacity will be increased to more then 20,000 and temporary corporate facilities erected. About 2000 seats will be added to the southern stand, raised corporate suites built on the banks of the northern end and a marquee raised on an adjacent field. In all the new facilities will expand the grounds corporate capacity to 1900.

Stadium manager Allia has also applied to the Dept of Health to increase the number of fans allowed in the standing section in front of the Shed.

Allia chief Peter Bauchop said yesterday if all went to plan, MES would hold a total of 20,757 for Super 14 matches.

"At the moment we have 14 corporate suites and 32 open air boxes"

"Thats not nearly enough to cater for rugby and we've had to find ways to meet the demand.

"for example the marquee will hold 500 for the pre game dinner and guests will then move into the premium seating for the match.

A league team Perth Glory will benefit from the increased corporate facilities, while will available for the expected increase in MRL matches in Perth over the next few years.

Anyone have any news on Takiari?

How about an anti-corporate TWF marquee? Any profits from beer get spent on ... well, what? Advertising for the Force, raising petitions for the stadium upgrade, meet the player events, etc.

Any profits raised would be used towards the Ox rugby fund for 2010 and years going forward

Any funds raised would be poured into the Country. Both supporting existing clubs and competitions and starting up new clubs and competitions.

You should look at leasing one... It would be easier to downgrade in size if you didn't get the numbers required to make it viable... If demand skyrockets and you get more than four, you should be able to lease an annexe without any probs!

If the gov won't do it, we'll do it for ourselves! Atleast we can lay claim to it being ours a bit more than if it was all funded by the government..then we'd be more like the WAFC and no one wants that!

Does this mean we rejected Len Buckeridge's offer?
