France upset All Blacks in first Test at Dunedin

    June 13, 2009 - 7:34PM

    New Zealand 22 France 27

France defied New Zealand's stellar record in rugby matches at Carisbrook to upset the All Blacks 27-22 in the first of two Tests on Saturday night.

The defeat was only the fifth in 36 Tests for the All Blacks at Carisbrook.

Both sides had top players missing, France due to last week's Top 14 domestic final, and New Zealand because of a series of injuries that resulted in only half the first-choice players taking the field.

France finished with three treis to two.

The teams meet again next Saturday in Wellington.

FRANCE 27 (Francois Trinh-Duc, Williams Servat, Maxime Medard tries; Julien Dupuy 3 cons 2 pens) bt NEW ZEALAND 22 (Liam Messam, Ma'a Nonu tries; Stephen Donald 4 pens) at Carisbrook, Dunedin. Referee: George Clancy (IRL)

i dont think i would go that far. they came back in the second. kinda wish we could have heard what henry said at halftime to his men. and then afterwards as well.

Hope Henry didn't offend anyone at halftime though, he may end up with a selection committee...

Why is it when the All Blacks lose my Kiwi mates never answer their mobiles or text messages? when im offering my condolences.
punters club picked up $221 odd for France to win and Wallabies 13+ for $30 outlay. Nice work Jedi.

    The Irish Ref kept saying

    Crutch - touch - pause – engage

I think this "crutch touch" stuff bewildered the All Blacks front-row…
