Funny how Southland suddenly became the better team in the Highlanders pairing - guess this weekend will tell what's what.

Got some visitors from Southland here ATM so this prompted me to check if that match is going to be shown. It is if you have HD. Same as today's match, which is apparently ranked below replays of last weeks AFL, U20's Mungo and Cricket test.

I've asked Foxtel about their unreliable coverage of Friday night Mungos before and been told that they prioritise live sports. So, seeing as how the ANZ Cup has always been shown on live SD in the past, this must just be a blantant example of price gouging for the extra 20 bucks a month for HD.

    Which I can't recieve anyway.

Its great though I think. The resurgence of the likes of Hawkes Bay and Southland really shows that the NZRU are doing something right with their national rugby comp with the minnows out performing their richer neighbours. Otherwise it just defeats the purpose of them being there.

I watched two ANZ cup games the other day, North Harbour had a cracking win over Canterbury, even with Dan the Man Carter back in the team.

There was even schoolboys rugby on yesterday at 10am. Qld 1 Vs combined states.

Yep. Replays. Not good enough when the live match is being shunted to HD to make space for a bunch of other replays. I don't know about anyone else, but I really didn't subscribe to Fox to watch replays.

    Ahhh, shasta-the joy of replays...

Agree-Not as good as the real thing, though when you have no option they are better than nothing.

If it wasn't for replays and 'IQ', I would hardly get to see anything at all, what with unsociable work hours and always losing out to Disney, Lifestyle, Arena, the how to look good in the kitchen channel ...

Yeah, I can sympathise with the work hours thing. But I just don't do replays well and tend to listen to Sport FM or read live "calls" on planet Rugby or such when I'm at at work (except when it's on 7- like Saturday night ). That was the main reason for getting Fox in the first place.

Shame Otago couldn't pull off the Ranfurly Shield win in round one last week - imagine the crowd they could have got at Dunedin this Friday?
