Disappointing year for grand final crowds - 7 312 for this one.

Was very mipressed with Mitch Inman and especially Ben Mcalman from Uni. Bodes very well for the Force next year. Although Mcalman seems to really be more suited as a back rower at S14 level I would have thought. Maybe not though- a lock in the Brad Thorn mould??

Yeah he sure didn't look like a tall sapling, but appearances can be deceiving, maybe he's tall and solid.

For mine he looked more like a Rocky Elsom.......we need more of them anyway!

Reading the Article on the Training party, I noticed mention of the Force's lock stocks. Sharpie, Wykesey and Tommy H all out through injury. McCalman might get a call up sooner than expected!

Well since you ask I reckon he looks a lot like Rocky Elsom...If he has enough mongrel he could make a pretty handy power #6.

definitely some promise in Mcalman... just goes to show last a chance pick isn't always a disadvantage... Brumbies got jerry that way... and he'll be a future Wallaby...

The more you think about it, and how the game is changing, the less silly is seems McCalman being a lock. Someone was talking about Thorn before and he's only 1cm taller than McCalman. You lose a little in the line-out but if you have a king-pin then the advantages you get at the breakdown and as a ball carrier probably outweigh it. Personally if I were Mitch I'd play Sharpie, Wykes, McCalman, Pocock and Brown in the second and back rows. With Hockings and Hodgson on the bench. Pretty tight little unit in my opinion.
