    SANZAR searches for title sponsor

SANZAR has teamed up with a marketing firm to put the naming rights of the Super 14 - 15 next year - up for grabs.

Following the success of rugby brands such as the Air New Zealand Cup, Heineken Cup and Magners League, the Tri-Nations governing body has opted to unify the name of the tournament that has had different title sponsors in the three different countries thus far.

"For SANZAR to collectively market one of our key assets centrally and to appoint a sole agency is a first for the organisation," said Andy Marinos, SANZAR CEO and SA Rugby's acting Managing Director.

"The new developments in Super Rugby, including a new format and the inclusion of a 15th team clearly illustrate that there has never been a more exciting time for potential sponsors to partner with southern hemisphere rugby.

"The appointment of Essentially (the marketing firm tasked with finding the sponsors) is a reflection of its global footprint within rugby union and impressive track record of delivering high-quality sponsors into the game. Essentially understands our needs and we look forward to working with its team to secure these key deals."

Slightly old news but I think this is pretty interesting, Its likely we could see something like the Emirates Cup? as naming rights for the overall Super15 competition.

they wouldnt gain anything out of getting naming rights, News Corp is a overaching body which is really a conglomerate of smaller companies. If you were to alternatively call it 'the daily telegraph Super 15', then that would kind of make sense because they have a product to sell.

I think we are more likely to see a company like Visa, Emiriates or Qantas grab the naming rights because they sell there products in all 3 countries.

Ohh god. Just think of the lame assed jokes Growden would come out with about Mitch if they called it the Crazy John's trophy.
