Wallabies back Quade Cooper has been cleared to resume playing for Queensland and will line up in the Reds' final Super 14 trial match against the Western Force in Perth on Friday night.

Cooper, who is facing burglary charges, was given the green light after completing the first stage of an intensive counselling and personal development program.
The 21-year-old was arrested on the Gold Coast in early December after allegedly stealing a laptop computer.

"Quade has done everything we have required from him since he agreed to begin the program on December 18 and has earned the privilege to again be considered for selection," said ARU high performance David Nucifora.
"However, Quade is also aware that we will closely monitor his performance in the program."
Cooper was selected at five-eighth for Friday's trial in a strong indicator he will wear the No.10 jersey against NSW in the Super 14 opener in Brisbane on Feb 13.

The ARU must really like him, poor Matt Henjack and Lote Tiquiri, both never even had to front court yet got the boot. ARU consistency at its best

Inconsistency maybe but its pretty hard to feel sorry for Henjak and Tuqiri. Henjak had fairly serious anger management issues and Tuqiri was a serial dickhead.

Appears to be situational - If your the Rebels you can, but if your the Force you can't get a hooker!

Wallabies lock James Horwill to play blindside flanker for Reds against Force
    February 03, 2010 11:27am

WALLABY lock and Reds skipper James Horwill will switch to blindside flanker for Queensland's final trial match ahead of the Super 14 season.

Horwill has been chosen in the No.6 jersey for Friday night's clash with Western Force in Perth, with Adam Byrnes to partner Van Humphries in the second row.

"We're just trying a few things," Reds coach Ewen McKenzie said in explaining the Horwill switch.

"Kevvie (Horwill) is pretty excited about it, so we'll see how it goes."

Horwill's fellow Wallabies Digby Ioane and Quade Cooper, cleared to resume playing for the Reds this morning, will also take the field against the Force.

Greg Holmes returns from a rib injury to play at loosehead prop, while young hooker James Hanson gets his first crack at a starting spot.

Queensland Reds team (from fullback): Peter Hynes, Luke Morahan, Digby Ioane, Anthony Faingaa, Rod Davies, Quade Cooper, Will Genia (vice-captain), Ezra Taylor, Daniel Braid, James Horwill (captain), Van Humphries, Adam Byrnes, Laurie Weeks, James Hanson, Greg Holmes. Reserves: Ben Daley, Sean Hardman, James Slipper, Robert Simmons, Scott Higginbotham, Richard Kingi, Ben Lucas, Morgan Turinui, Blair Connor.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing Andy
Looks like they are giving their junior Hooker (and TH) a run too, they no doubt consider it his big chance against our "crap" ones. Hopefully he will get owned.
