If Stanners was going to be here, as the inaugural TWF winner then that has some merit.

I'm for the Mayor - John Welborn. Inaugural Western Force player in 1996 and a rugby product of WA. Played junior rugby and senior club rugby for Nedlands, Wa schoolboys and under 21s and lots of games for WA.
More importantly he is now retired so should be able to give even Dunning a run for his money in drinking beer and telling stories.
Isn't that what we want from a "Patron"???

I reckon Spanner should be in the mix. Apart from him being a winner of the TWF Player awards he has been a fantastic club man. He player were the team needs him to play, doesn't seemed to have whinged about his lot at any point. Now he has come back at a time of need and was even prepared to take just a 4 week contract. Hey a lot of people in his position would have signed on only if they could get a full season contract... You can't tell me that the Force had huge number of backs available who could just slot it.

Spanner you're a true gentleman of the game!!!

Yeah - being the family man he is, he could probably do with an excuse to sneak out of the house for the odd pint. "Just gotta go do some official business down with that TWF mob, dear" Although that line rarely works for me

I'm not well enough versed in EMF history to know who are WA (born and bred) chaps. The Mayor guy strikes me as a good one. Pek, I understand was only 14 when arriving in the West, but, for christ-sakes, a 'patron' should have a zimmer frame and still be drinking and grabbing arse ( nd the local ladies not minding because 'he did so much for the club'). That's how we do it here. Our patron is a stalker, but he played seniors and sired 3 sons that played seniors! Mmmmmmmmmm, bout time we took a look at ourselves!

I think it has to be Dunning as he had the good humour to run around on Saturday in the mascot costume (i could tell it was him because it had no neck)

A swan without a neck is just a duck, isn't it?

But EWF and Rugby WA, and correct me if i'm wrong, have a Swan shaped like a rugby ball as its logo? So why the Duck mascot? I'm sure it was a Black Swan, same colour, same coloured beak? But i get your point.

I didn't notice it until I saw the replay, but when did the mascot thing happen?
