If true that’s a very good acquisition for them. Watched him in the sevens games and he is a live wire. Best move for him as well, because I don’t think Genia is going to give up his spot any time soon and the Reds still have Lucas as a back up.

But who will he learn his trade from at the Rebels? An apprenticeship under Genia will bring him on. A move to the Rabble will see him remain as a very good 7's player.

    Who did Genia learn from?

Not being snide just seems around the time when he joined the team there was a lot of movements in that position, I don’t know that much about the Reds but wasn’t Cordingly in and out of the team and Lucas had only just started as well.

So with that didn’t Genia have one year to do an apprenticeship and then shine on through with natural talent the year after.

One of those sink or swim moments where Genia got out of the water and decided to Fly. Who is to say Kingi cant do the same?

    I'd put a $50 on Chris O'Young.

Has anyone heard much on Henjak since he had to give up his non-European playing licence to Contepomi? Last I remember seeing, he was playing on an amateur license in Toulons European Challenge Cup team, but that was not really a sustainable situation for a professional player.

Do you think Mitch is trying? I didn't think the Force was trying. I heard it was really only between the Reds and the Rebels.

Ahh nevermind that just read the other article....

dissapointing, but i suppose it had to happen, he wasnt going to get much game time with Genia as captain, just hope they dont lose Lucas as well, need to have some quality reserves in case of injuries.

Sam Cordingly - a very useful mentor.

This is really an unsatisfactory situation. All the rules and guidelines for their inclusion have been torn up. All this, for a city that doesn't even know that it is getting a rugby team, yet alone understanding the difference between union and league.

Here we go again - hope you are happy now JO'N.

I can understand your bitterness as, again, the ARU has stuffed up the player contracting rules. The 10 foreign player spots afforded them should be forfeited to the other franchises in some kind of ballot if they are not going to use them. In fact the whole player contracting system is a dogs breakfast. And we know which dogs always get the biggest feed.

But I reckon you might be off the mark with your point about the support for Rugby in Melbourne. I have a feeling it may be a pleasant surprise.
