    I'm with Bunter
I started the ref bashing a few years back. I was so upset I jumped the security fence and fuelled by alcohol I crash tackled the referee. I was taken away but at least the ref couldn't finish the game.
How much can the fans take? The refereeing is shite
They are pedantic little pea blowers with egomania that insist on putting their blueprint on a game.
Fairbrother was pinged at least 3 times with the Force attacking the Tahs line and an attacking scrum with their own feed. The Force wouldn't deliberately collapse a scrum in this position and at worst there should have been a reset. The ref frequently allowed the Tahs to refeed collapsed scrums. Ben Robinson is the best loosehead in world rugby and probably got the Tahs home from this one stat alone. He's as cunning as a fox and has incredible strength and technique

It was frustrating. The referee who has never played in the frontrow and is unlikely to have ever even packed down against a scrum machine, is making decisions on frontrowers. It's a farce

I wanted to run on and give the ref a snotklap.

I advocate a scrum referee (ex prop) should run on to referee every scrum and retire to a comfortable chair whilst the poonce refereees the rest of the match. There should be a scrum ref on each side of the field so the lads don't have to over exert themselves by walking too far. When the scrum ends, they just waddle off until the next scrum

I've said it before, but one of my favourite ref'ing moments was when Tony Spreadbury (an ex-hooker) called up the two front rows and said "I know what's going on. You know what's going on. Stop it!"

I liked the way the female trainer for the Waratahs jumped up and down and pointed out to the touchie that Hodgo was bleeding from his lip just as we were setting a scrum on their 5m line. The touchie told the ref, Hodgo went off and Sheehan went onto the openside.

Very poor game from the ref but we were also our worst enemy at times. We showed up this week and brought some heart which was great.

Still have massive problems at 11 and 13. JOC at 10 go and buy Steyn and put him at 12 and find another big 13 who can break lines and our forwards will finally be rewarded for their effort.

    The forwards were great
The backs are rubbish. I wouldn't play with that backline if I was a forward

That was where Waugh talked the ref into the next penalty where we were pinged for collapsing our own scrum 5 m out from our own line.

Shows how insecure Waugh was about having a half as a break away that might just show him up as to how bad he really is

Just watched the replay, from the time their waterbird dobbed on Hodgo for blood to full time the Tahs really did turn into a bunch of whinging fags I must say.
Waugh re Sheehan at Openside (WTF Phil, since when has that even been close to a law???), Barnes re getting the TMO to make a ruling for the defensive team were two of the biggest but plenty of others. I think basically they were shitting themselves at the prospect of beng beaten by the "lowly" Force and becoming a laughing stock of the S14. Oops, too late...

He's a poor referee as he showed in his last game, but as somebody else said: the Force were often their own worst enemies and should look at themselves rather than the ref.

The Tahs were poor as they have been in most games this year and your blokes should have put them away, but like 2 years ago, they just fell short.

The Force showed terrific improvement in the set pieces, and especially the lineout, but they couldn't breach the Tahs defence except with an intercept. When they did get an few opportunities from Tahs mistakes they couldn't capitalise because of a lack of nous and speed at the key point.

It was a poor exhibition of rugby especially by the backs of both teams and as bad as the Force guys were the Tahs were worse.

For me the only redeeming feature of the game was the performance of Hodgson. I thought 7 was a black hole for Oz rugby if you define it as a position with only one valid candidate: Pocock. As well as Hodge has played when Pocock has been off the park, especially this year I didn't think of him as a valid specialist 7 to start in a crunch test match if Bam Bam wasn't available. After last night I do.

I've known his play for a while and to be honest he wasn't great. IIRR he played in the midfield as a young bloke then moved to the backrow but he wasn't a standout and he had a broken leg in there somewhere which slowed his progress.

Hodge was running around for Manly in 2005 as a all-purpose backrower and he showed a bit of tenacity which made me think that the new S14 team might pick him up for a squad spot. The rest is history, but he got where he is not through natural ability but by sheer hard work, determination to succeed, and ticker in the tough stuff.

You gotta love guys like that.

Phil Waugh who has been discussed on this thread has similar traits. I've known him since he was a 12 year old with the Narrabeen Tigers, who my boys played for. He was as skinny as hell but he had a burning desire to play big rugby. When he went to high school I lost track of him until I saw him one day leading out the Shore 1st XV at Hunters Hill looking as broad as he was tall. He destroyed my Joeys team that day but I have forgiven him and have always been proud of him.

I don't think we'll see Phil in the Wallabies again unless there are injuries. He is nowhere near the best player for the Tahs but he is probably the most valuable player the Tahs have. Even though Hodge outplayed him last night the Tahs would have lost that game without his leadership - and they would have been beaten by the Reds as well.

    But I have digressed.
