Just scouring Google News you can add Billy Slater and Israel Folau to the "rumour mill"...

Slater could be a absolute star, im not entirely convinced by Folau though, i tend to think his phsique and skill set is better suited to league..

If Folau did come to rugby union i would probably put him in the forwards

Slater is not big enough for rugby. Probably a bit like Matty Rogers - he would be solid, but RL suits his size a bit more.

Slater is a big guy... similar in build to Cam Sheperd.. He has great hands, runs superb lines, can kick the ball so hard it melts... Of all the RL stars i think he has closest to the complete game.. not confinced he'll want to switch though... as far as im aware he has had more exposure to AFL than Union.

    Force back line line-up of

    Turner
    O'Connor
    Cullett
    Spanner
    Inman
    Sheps
    Slater

    would be spentacular!

Unfortunately that works on the assumption that Gio Aplon is a good player. I reckon he's pretty marginal.

Cam Shepherd has about 15kgs on Slater.

Jason Robinson was shorter and lighter than Billy Slater and Slater reminds me a lot of him - I reckon he'd do fine. Slater would possibly end up on the wing in rugby.

Not sure if you have been watching Aplon in recent weeks but he has been on fire of late.

I think wing would suit Slater better (in rugby) - but is he worth $1 million per year on the wing? Nah.

As for Falou - I hope someone takes him from the Broncos - a waste of time and effort. The Broncos spent waaaay too much for him, given his modest return and his chronic injury problems.

I can't speak for recent weeks but both times he has played the Force he has been dreadful. He is always going to have a bit of an easy time of it playing in the backline of a winning team. Everyone is watching Habana or Pietersen or de Jongh or Fourie and gives Aplon opportunities he wouldn't normally get. I'd be very surprised if Aplon ever plays international rugby.
