Controversial AFL great Wayne Carey will reportedly be inducted into the game's Hall of Fame next month.
"The dual premiership captain will be among five inductees at a ceremony on June 3, the Herald Sun newspaper reports.
Carey's off-field behaviour, including brushes with the law during a romance with former girlfriend Kate Neilson, has overshadowed his football career.
He previously failed the Hall of Fame charter character assessment due to a sex scandal with the wife of then teammate Anthony Stevens, admissions of drug and alcohol abuse and criminal charges including assaulting police and his 2007 arrest at a Miami hotel.
Carey was inducted into North Melbourne's Hall of Fame last year.
He played 244 games and booted 671 goals for the Kangaroos.
After the sex scandal, Carey played for the Adelaide Crows before retiring."
