    Yep, the reception laptop to be able to access MYOB on the desk top in the office behind. That would be the only application that would need to be shared.

    I don't think you'd be able to have concurrent access, it's one or the other (you'd have to check with MYOB on that).

    You would need to have MYOB installed on both the desktop and laptop. You will need to have the MYOB data file in a shared directory on the desktop which the laptop user has r4ead and write access rights to. The laptop should then map a drive to the shared directory on the desktop and it can then open the data file via this mapped drive.

    As mentioned, shouldn't be an issue of only one person at a time is opening the data file, but concurrent access in this manner is unlikely

    Yeah just one using it at a time. MYOB is already on both machines.
