Gerry, what bloody cheek of Gossage and his pro AFL toadies now suggesting Subiaco for rectangular field sports. Now, when they want any proposed new stadium for their own exclusive use!

    Hypocritical wangker!

I don't know FS, I'd be all for a Subi conversion provided it was completed 2014...

Another real problem with NIB was highlighted on Friday night. The playing surface turned into a lake with one decent downpour. Compared to the surfaces at Rugby stadia on the East Coast and NZ it came out very poorly. Just one more area where the it is substandard for Super Rugby. Was there any comittment to upgrade the surface/drainage along with the grandstand and the lighting?

Reckon? There have been plenty of similar deluges on the east coast in the past couple of seasons. New Zealand gets the odd bit of rainfall too I've heard. The playing surfaces don't hold surface water because of advanced drainage systems in place. In most cases the players still seem able to play a relatively expanseve game. Most of that 40ml came in the hour before the game, I think. Modern surfaces would have drained pretty much by kickoff.

Ooo... a big fat rectangle at Subi... that would be good. Closer to JBs for a start

I remember hearing something about a surface upgrade in the next phase, but can't lay my hands on a quote.

    Well not at NIB anyway.

May just be that He doesn't want those dastardly Mungos playing on hallowed ground.
