Have used that one, not a patch on the desktop version of Photoshop, but may be OK for basic photo edits...

Who's a bigger geek you Coach or the wife? She really seems to get all the new latest gadgets while you get the old model hand me downs.

Generally, "Nexus" devices are great. Snappy things with absolutely zero bloat (you don't get a bucket load of bundled unwanted apps) and they get the newest updates to Android before other devices.

One downside is that you can not update the storage capacity - they generally do not have an SD Card port.

I have had one of the first generation Nexus7 for a couple of years now. I can not fault it, nor say a bad word about it. Good gear

You may be sold on a having a tablet, but having had a Xoom followed by an iPad, I've now switched to a Chromebook for my business and leisure. If you mainly use a web browser for everything and use cloud computing, it's very hard to beat and is great value for money at $300-$400. It's not a usual laptop ie, it only runs Chrome OS Apps but there's plenty of them. It boots in 7 seconds from hitting the on button and within one second from opening it up (from hibernation) I get around 10 hrs battery life (while running, not closed) You can fit a SD card for removable storage and use your phone as a hotspot for wifi on the road. I have the Toshiba Chromebook and looking at getting a second one as I'm sick of competing for its use when I'm home ie, rest of the family grab it to watch netflix/browse etc.. It's incredibly light and looks like a MAC book - but don't expect metal MAC book quality for a sub $400 device but it's robust enough. Recommend an Intel chip rather that the ARM chip version. Only negatives I've found with it is it's a bit glarey when outside (I get by and use it on the road every day), it doesn't have a delete button (use backspace) and the touch pad's a bit clunky - use a USB mouse.
