Meet the Players Day - Today!

The Emirates Western Force is opening its doors today to our loyal members with the annual ‘Members Meet the Players Day’ being held at the Western Australian Rugby Centre on Saturday, 11 February.

It is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with all your favourite Emirates Western Force players and to meet the new faces in the team.

You can watch the team train from 8:00am at McGillivray Oval (UWA Sports Park in Mt Claremont) and then join in all the ‘fun of the fair’ from 9:00 - 11:00am on the grassed area at the rear of the new Western Australian Rugby Centre, 203 Underwood Avenue Floreat.

There will be rides for the kids, giveaways and a chance to get autographs from all your favourite players. We will also be opening the doors to our new facilities with players on hand to show our members through the building.

Members please note that, whilst our physical “location” here at the WA Rugby Centre has not changed – our “address” has! We are situated opposite Perry Lakes Reserve between the WA Basketball Centre and Challenge Stadium.

Please be advised that parking in the sporting precinct will be difficult on the morning of the Members Meet the Players Day due to a number of other events happening for basketball and athletics. Members can choose to arrive to watch the training, and park at McGillivray Oval and then walk to the WA Rugby Centre for the fair – a short 10 minute stroll with marked path access through the bush reserve - or look for parking within the Perry Lakes parking areas and head from there to the WA Rugby Centre (crossing Underwood Avenue). Parking will not be available at the WA Rugby Centre, for member-safety reasons.

Members who have not collected their 2012 Member Pack can do so on the day but please remember you must have your ‘pack collection’ letter with you. Packs cannot be distributed without the presentation of the letter.

The Team store will be open as well, so you can get the latest 2012 Emirates Western Force gear at a discounted price!

We look forward to seeing you there.

I assume there was a tad more leadtime to the day for those paying attention?

Great day had a lot of fun, the players looked pretty relaxed. My little fella (13 month old) didn't like his rugby ball being handled by them guys in blue, to the amusement to a few of them.

One tiny issue is the lack of shade, but the sunscreen provided by the club was a good thought.

Instead of having the players all sitting down signing this year, they were all wandering around. It was good cos you could have a chat with them.
Not so many people as last year, but the kids definitely looked like they were having fun! Not sure they'll be as much fun this afternoon when they come down from their fairy floss high though!

Pocock got set upon in the car park before making it to the grassed area it was like watching a pack of hyenas surrounding a lone lion.

Brownie has to be one of the most affable and genuine blokes going around.

It was a good morning. As people have mentioned it was great to be able to have a bit of a chat with the guys. It was funny seeing tall Phoenix Battye "scrumming" with a couple of little kids and being "pushed" over. The players I spoke to were very keen for the season to start. Sorry, we forgot the camera so no photo's. Lack of shade could have been a problem if it had been hotter.

It was a great morning, format was the best yet. Well done to the marketing team.

Players were very approachable and happy to take photos, sign autographs or get in a quick chat.

Badges on the players were fantastic, it gave us a chance to correctly address and welcome the new guys.

Having a chat to a few of the players indicated that they were keen for the season to get under way, and lots of places up for grabs, as well as a focus on closing out the close games.
