Yep they are strong in League. I don't see that they are any stronger in union - Ultimately WA has a good ground support and potential players coming into the state. Just look at our African immigrants from Zim and SA not to mention our pommy friends as well.

You couldn't get a better support base than what u find here in WA.

As for the players well they are professional players and most will go where ever the $ is based. We can attract and retain the players at the end of the day with a decent coach, a few more wins and improved stadium.
Improved Stadium would be a great start....
changing the coach has apparently worked for the Brumbies....
Something needs to be done...7 years..and we haven't progressed any...
IMHO whoever they get as coach...leave the guy to do his job...and leave politics of Rugby WA out of it....
Never felt more low than I did after the game on Friday...we (the fans) deserve more than just to be grateful we have a Union side here... If all the Players played with the passion of the few...we would be in a much better place.....

    That's professional rugby.

Not a big deal in the long term; the team will roll on. Very much a short term disruption though. Hopefully everyone just puts it to one side and gets on with the rest of the season, regardless of what happens after that. The ones in the hot seat now are the board, who need to go find someone credible quick smart. It might be nice to find an Aussie, but I suspect timing will be a big issue in the size of the available field. In any case I would hope that they would look for the best going, not simply one with a preferred accent.

What about the sea of blue RG, the best fans in super rugby?... If players and management personnel had the same commitment as the supporters, we would of made the finals by now!,.........

It's started... Reds fan rebellion on Facebook

"I don't understand how anyone can call this brillant news. Graham hasn't shown any form of success in any coaching job yet we're wanting to give him reins of the 2011 Super 15 champions?

I couldn't care less what implications this has on the Force, my concern is only on the success of the Queensland Reds. With all of the potential coaches around the world we picked the biggest dud."

Implication for Force is to scour the planet for the best possible coach instead of brain dead dick

This will be a perfect method to gauge the ability of the man to coach.

We've seen what he's been able to do at the , so now we can compare that with how he does at the Reds.

With a bit of luck he can be THEIR attack coach!

John Mitchell at the Lions has got a load of duds playing to the best of their ability. graham has a team with ability playing like duds.he's a crap coach and the sooner he goes the better. If I was a Queensland supporter,I'd be horrified right now.

Got to say I am sick to death of hearing them trot out that "best fans in super rugby" BS! What they really mean is best mugs in super rugby!

The rugby nursery is infinately stronger in Qld. Its like being a kid in a candy store (from a coach's perspective)..

I must say that I have actually been pretty impressed with his efforts. He has the weakest roster yet the Force are a very willing and competetive team most weeks.

I think the opininions on here are a bit unfortunate.

Finally Dodgy Bro, the Force do have a great core of supporters but it is churlish to suggest that the pool of supporters comes within cooee of the Reds. This is not a criticism of the Force, just an obvious statement about population numbers, participation levels and numbers of people with rugby connections here.
