Yes it was - they also had a war with a group of Mexicans.
The Mexicans were outnumbered by about five to one, but put on a valiant rear guard action before being driven off.
However when the Spartans invaded the pitch, they were seen of by West's Mayan King who happened to be lurking on the wing.

A cohort of cavorting Spartans, dressed in red capes, brown skirts and Roman helmets, armed with wooden spears, papier mache shields and plywood swords and daggers, fortified no doubt by the consumption of copious quantities of retsina and ouzo, descended on Rosalie park at about 4.15 pm last Saturday and proceeded to .. well cavort, on the soccer pitch closest to the hospital, having traversed the park from the other side.
Upon espying this, a group of Mexicans, sporting elegant sombreros, ponchos and dusty trousers of different hues, replete with ferocious mustachios, who were casually frequenting the West's bar, as is their wont, drinking tequila and warm Mexican beer (well to be honest all the beer at Wests is warm), took exception to this arrogant display of Nationalist fervour by a bunch of cheeky Greeks, and charged towards them, armed with empty Corona bottles, rancid tequila worms and a barrage of half sucked, salty lemons.
A skirmish took place as they engaged the interlopers, but due to their state of inebriation and the fact that they were heavily outnumbered, the Mexicans beat a dignified, albeit hasty retreat, whereupon the sons of Macedon sought to conduct some sort of victory celebration on the rugby field of play, to the consternation of the players and officials, until they were unceremoniously ejected by West's Mayan King, playing on the wing, resplendent in the Wests bumble bee uniform, purple boots and French coiffure, who dismissed them with the immortal words "F#$% off, you c&%#s", upon which they decamped without further ado.
