thats the beautiful thing about succession planning.. there is always another star to bring through

Taps told Rebels he doesn't want to join them, if the Force had any sense they would try and sign him..

"Succession planning.....another star to bring through..." How's that working out on the coaching front at the Reds TOCC? Not sure I can see any stars in the Ewen succession plan just at the moment

You are not aware of the QRU's coaching academy?

Its called the NSW Waratah's and Michael Foley is learning his trade as we speak..

Sorry to drop a clanger on your thoughts but why an Irishman ? I guess the precedent has been set with Jake White being an overseas coach but Dingo Deans cannot relate to the aussie players . Do we expect O'sullivan to ?
It will be the same as the EPL with foreign coaches - some work but most are recycled regularly. If we are serious then either Cheika or Louden who have overseas experience but know aussie players and culture. Aussie coaches are renowned world wide for their ability to adapt and for thinking outside the box.
The two things we need are an Aussie coach with balls and a good strong academy to produce future force players. The kiwi's have an excellent academy setup as do the Melbourne Storm. As aussies we can steal every idea and make it work for us. Stop waxing the lizard Vern and get serious !

    this is bollocks.....

A bit like our #10 finding at the begining of the year (after the Ripia issue) any1 who has ever had played F.H was being linked to the EWF,

And now its happening with the coach, any1 who has ever coached a rugby team from around the world is being spoken about !!

But I will say 1 thing "if we get Cheika" get used to loosing rugby... he is boring / sh1t coach / stats talk for themselves / develop will go no where, do i need to continue ??

Western Force trims coaching wish list to three

THE Western Force has narrowed down its short-list of coaching candidates to three with Michael Cheika, Scott Johnson and Eddie O'Sullivan believed to be in the running for the vacant position at the Super Rugby franchise.

Cheika, who guided Irish province Leinster to its maiden Heineken Cup in 2009, has recently parted company with French club Stade Francais.

Johnson, a former assistant coach at Wales, Australia and Scotland, has head coaching experience with the USA and Welsh club Ospreys.

O'Sullivan coached Ireland from 2001 to 2008, lifting the men in green to number three in the world rankings, and guided the USA at the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.

The Force has been searching for a new coach since Richard Graham re-signed last month after accepting an offer to coach the Queensland Reds next year
