How appropriate that the two games against the Japanese corporate teams Yamaha and Toshiba be played all that way out at Joondalup. Isn't that near Yanchep ,where a great Australian sportsman in Alan Bond took another Japanese corporation for a ride?

My Friends perhaps we are looking at this a little wrong. May I suggest the following.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to decide which Force games you can, or can not go to because you do or dont like the venue.

Not everyone is lucky enough to live just around the corner from Subi or MES.

By RugbyWA having these games at Joondalup - we are making sure that WAFL aren't pocketing our beer and or food dollars.

Perhaps this is the plan to take the Force to the all the People of WA. Perhaps the next games will be held at South Freo Oval or something. or Bunbury City Oval. or Recreation Oval Geraldton. or the East Meekathara Sports Ground Number 2.

I guess what I am trying to say is that by all means lets have a discussion about the merrits or lack there of any Stadium in Perth, but whinging about a oval/stadium because its north or south of the river or the colour of the seats just seems a little childish.

Bloody good on them is what I can say.

Think about people like Burgs, one of the most dedicated Force fans you can imagine. He lives a long way away from central Perth and doesn't get a chance to come to alot of games. Do people who live far away not deserve to enjoy the rugby experience?

NSWRU do this, send the Waratahs up to the central coast or down to Wollongong, to give fans in remote locations a chance to see some rugby. Now for RugbyWA, not only is this good for remote fans, but for the Force (who are still just babies) to gain further exposure in WA.

The question shouldn't be "Why are they playing up there?", it should be "Am I a big enough a fan to go up there and cheer on my team?"

Joondalup is 20 -25 minutes from CBD.

Not an hour away like Gosford.

But an extra 20 minutes from fans who live in Rockingham/Mandurah and go to every game...is a significant difference.

Sorry the venue is an oval ground and is shocking for rectangular based sports...

    Thumbs up

Eg(an) "on your face" and Mambo "Jambo", if you cast your mind back several years, you might vaguely remember that a Rugby League warm up match between the (someone correct me if I am wrong) Canterbury Bulldogs and the Sharks was played at this very stadium.

There is potential for vast growth in this region for Rugby Union given that the Rugby Club with the biggest Junior base is in the Area - Joondalup Brothers.

    8) Bugs I'll needs help in the commentary box if you make the big trip.

Eg looks like your going to miss out - mate you'd better wait for the Super 14's season to start so you can watch the Force in the perfect rugby stadium - Subiaco oval!??!! Better still tune into Rugby Radio

I think he was referring to the West Perth Falcons in the WAFL who are based at Arena Joondalup
