Worrying signs for force as Cheika fails to call

    July 16, 2012, 6:39 am

The Western Force will be on the brink of disaster if Michael Cheika turns down their offer to coach the club for the next two years.

They had hoped to hear from the Heineken Cup-winning coach before the players arrived home last night from their two-game tour of New Zealand. They disperse for a post-season break tomorrow.

There were worrying signs yesterday as the club had still not heard from Cheika.

Cheika, who coached Leinster to the European title in 2009, is known to be his own man and unlikely to sway from any contract demands.

If he refuses the deal, 15 weeks of trying to find the right replacement for Richard Graham, who quit for the Queensland Reds, would go out the window.

Other candidates would need to consider whether they would be willing to accept an offer having already been overlooked.

    etc....

If it is true the issue i feel isnt that we dont have Cheika IMO i dont think he was the right man for the job He is to much in the mould of Mitchell hard ares controll freak. We need someone with an eye for developing players with backline exp, i would much rather someone like Louden.

The issue is the way that Rugby WA has handled eveything and heads should roll for the way everything has gone down.

I have nothing to add that will end the speculation at this stage. Two questions though:

    1) Just what has RugbyWA said or done? I am not prepared to criticise them (just yet) if they haven't actually said or done anything. It's all "sources say", or "reports suggest" stuff by these reporters. All they are doing is jumping the gun and then they can come back and say "See? I told you it was insert name who got the gig."

    2) Does someone have Tim Horan's contact details? He'll know for sure.

The Western Force have made an offer to Heineken Cup winner Michael Cheika to take charge of the Super Rugby side for the next two seasons.

That was pretty firm in the Worst even though there was nothing from an offficial RWA sauce.

Godwin, who played for Australia in this year's Junior World Cup, is in the Force's extended player squad.

The club is considering offering him a full contract

    WTF?!?!?
    FFS sign him now!
Make it a five year deal.
Get some kind of good news out there!

Certainly can't afford to be going on break without his name on the dotted line.

Though somehow I don't think Admin will be getting much of a break...

Did they not inform the players, that the coaching position for next season, would be appointed prior to the end of the season, which for EWF was saturday night?.....

He is going to Manly at the end of the S15 campaign. He will probably end up at the Reds, Waratahs, Brumbies or Rebels.....anywhere but here. Would be another screw up by the knuckle draggers at HQ, who can't get their shit together.

Maybe we should get Hansie involved in Force Contract negotiations..........they seem to have no problems at Neddies.
