Once you had the recipe that should have been that.
First 5 years of work were at butchers or Lenards stores.

Haha, the haggis. Personally I love it. And black, red and white pudding too. Haggis shooting season used to be very popular- we always managed to get a few tourists turning up at 5am on a cold morning for the shoot. Obviously we weren't there to see it, just enjoyed their whinging later that we never turned up. And yes it's true that out of their 4 legs the left legs are longer than the right as they always run around hills clockwise. This is why the right side of the haggis is always more tender. Enjoy with neeps and tatties and a generous measure of a smokey single malt served in front of a real fire. Surrounded by tired poms

Wait - you mean I've been fooled for years by the stories of there being two distinct species - one with long left legs and one with long right legs who run round hills anti-clockwise?

Halal haggis- love it!. I think you're onto something there normie. It's Deepavali here in KL today so maybe we can stretch to curried haggis for our Indian friends too. Endless possibilities for the humble "Great Chieftan o' the Puddin race"
