Thoughts on the Wallabies group for the World Cup in 2015 ?

Pretty hard to say where the teams will be in 3 years time, but looks like an extremely tough group to me !!!!!

Wales are our bunny so no dramas there

Game vs England would be the danger game

The England team that thumped Nz is very young & inexperienced, so by 2015 they will be a big threat. Wales at home will also be a tough game.

If we're going to win it we have to beat the better teams in the competition either in the pool matches or the knock-out stage. Provided there aren't any injuries playing the pool matches, it's better to have a tough pool than an 'easier' one - ask NZ 2007

The only bad thing about having both England and Wales in the pool is that I'll have to be in Britain longer to catch those matches as well as the finals

Zed, from what I'm reading, there is little chance that Wales will be allowed to play their "home" matches in Wales. The world cup is being held by England, not by the combined home nations

I get the impression that as hosts England will rule the roost over what games are played where, but may allow some games to be played outside England if it's practical and logical. The WRU suggested Wales play England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and although that won't happen it does show that there is a degree of flexibility as to where games are played. I'd be surprised if all games were played in England, especially when you consider the money side of things. Games like Aus vs Wales will be a sellout - Welford Road seats 24'000, Millennium Stadium closer to 80'000. That's a lot of lost revenue if they play in Leicester.

Wales was part of the English bid. I think they are having 8 games played there. Now that England and Wales are in the same group the talk was that Wales suggested they play their pool game in Wales. which wont happen more likely our game or the game against the other qualifier.

oops - sorry folks - never knew that.
So, it is feasible that Australia have to play 2 "powerhouses" at their own grounds ?
    Seems a little unfair

I DID have an ulterior motive for starting this thread, and that is I AM OVER THE MOON WITH SCOTLAND'S GROUP

By my reckoning, we don't meet NZ until the final

Depends on how yopu look at it

I'm going with the half full view which is - I will get to see The Wallabies play Wales at Cardiff and England and Twickers, if they are the only two matches I get to in RWC 2015 I will be pretty stoked
