Me too. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and his gorgeous smile and wonderful sense of humour.

I hate his killer with every fibre of my being.

Roll on April 7. Let's hope the gravity of what this FW did, and the ongoing effects on the family members/loved ones of Normie, are taken into consideration when it comes to sentencing.

    Thank God.

Shame we can't send him to a Russian gulag to serve out his sentence.

THE wife of a volunteer firefighter killed during a drug-fuelled road rage chase through Perth has spoken of the huge loss to the community his death has wrought.

Father-of-four Mark Noormets was killed when a car being driven by Rodney Allen Beard careered into him at high speed in December 2012.

Beard was accused of being involved in a road rage incident with another motorist Doug Wormall, ramming his car several times, before losing control of his ute and veering onto the wrong side of the road.

Beard’s trial in the WA Supreme Court began yesterday, accused of manslaughter and doing an act likely to endanger the safety of another person.

But after the first day of evidence, the 36 year-old Beard today changed his pleas to both charges to guilty.

The court had earlier heard how Mr Wormall was terrified and had tried to call triple-zero during the chase, while Mr Noormets died at the scene and Beard’s leg was injured in the crash.

A blood test showed Beard had methylamphetamine and amphetamine in his system.

He will be sentenced on April 7.

Outside court, Mr Noormet’s former wife Kate Barlow said his loss was deeply felt by her children and the wider community.

“The community lost somebody that was huge, it was not just his children losing their dad but the community lost a really great man,’’ Ms Barlow said.

“He was a hard worker, he was in the fire brigade, he mowed the lawns for the fire brigade. He was a great man.’’

She also alluded to the tragic irony of a Customs officer being killed as the result of a drug-fuelled act.

“I think it is disgusting - and Mark was a Customs officer. It is outrageous.’’

Mr Wormall sent his condolences to the family of Mr Noormets.

“I am so sorry for the family who lost their father. The incident has also affected me a fair bit and it is just too hard (to talk about),’’ Mr Wormall said.

Well at least there is some closure and the guy had the decency to admit to his crimes. Still doesn't bring Normie back though

Just heard on the news that he's been sentenced to 13 years jail.
His former partner said that she was happy with the sentence.
