If Deans picks Phipps, Phipps is ruled out of the weekend fixture Brumbies v rebels. Deans saves face with his daughter.

Burgess becomes the starting half for the Rebels and is therefore an Australian super rugby player.

Burgess gets a sniff of super rugby and blows out some cobwebs

Burgess gets selected to warm the pine
