‘The players went to the Rebels v Lions game with their team-mates and after the game they went back to a function at a club, with other Rebels guys. Lions players were there as well. After leaving, they stopped off to pick up some food on the way home and had pictures taken with some fans.

‘Both players are adamant that they didn’t drink and we have checked that out thoroughly. James O’Connor was driving. They have not broken any team protocols. Today is a day off for the squad and there were no commitments until late afternoon.

‘These players have done nothing wrong. Within the team protocols, they are expected to behave responsibly and show common sense but there are no curfews in place. They are allowed to go out. It was an historic night for the Rebels – their first game against the Lions – and they both play for that team. It is not ideal that the guys were out as late as they were but it was a Tuesday night and they had free time today.’

these blokes could end world hunger and people would still hate them.

beale is a fuckwit and doesnt deserve to be a wallaby. but he is and he gets my support when he runs out.
if he hadve fobbed off the fans we'd have been calling them arrogant

I disagree. The bloke is an alcoholic that was let out of REHAB to play last week without any Rugby for a month or more. Farce of the worst kind, he shouldn't be playing any Rugby at all let alone international while dealing with his illness.

And WTF is Judas doing with him out at 4am? Sheesh

EDIT: these two missed four penalties and a conversion. Judas' were all dollies 30m out right in front. If Deans had any gumption left they'd both be dropped a la Fergie kicking a boot in Becks facevthen flogging him to Real. But no, we will continue to struggle with them both wasting their careers and losing us games.

They look in pretty good shape for that time of the morning. It was Tuesday; and a day off probably. 4 days before game day. No biggie IMO. Maybe they stayed back after the game for kicking practice.

FFS what's wrong with for once not tempting fate and going home early for a change. Better yet - forgo the partying and stay back to practice some kicking at goal on the field or cleaning the crap outta your designer studs on your designer boots with the designer colours. But then why should they- they know they'll always get picked for the squad no matter what. Must be wonderful being Deans golden childs!

Don't care who you are and what excuse you roll out staying out till 4 am is ridiculous when it's the lead up to one if the most important tests this season

These two are dickheads and it only confirms what everyone in the country already knows

Two talented players that don't respect the jersey or their team mates l

Clearly these two are the worst human beings that ever walked the Earth, worse than Hitler and Stalin combined.

They were out late on a might they were allowed to be out with no team commitments until the following afternoon. Not to mention they were out with some Lions players I might add. Will the Lions players end up in trouble? Of course not because their surnames aren't O'Connor or Beale. No alcohol was consumed but haters on this website are going to hate

If O'Connor still played for the Force no one here would care

im no fan of oconnor as you know but i really dont see anything wrong with what they did, other than stuffing up their sleep cycles. perhaps they had contractual obligations as members of the team to attend functions etc and host touring players... it seems this is a media beat up rather than actual fact.

I have to say, I've got a foot in each camp.

It's hard to believe they were at a Maccas at 4 in the morning, but hadn't been drinking.

Every time I've been seeking fast food at that time of day I've been maggot.

On the other hand, if they have stayed off the piss and just got a feed on the way home from a post match function with sponsors (why wasn't there food there?) then they should be allowed to live their lives.

3 days before one of the most important games of their lives and they're out till 4am? It's not acceptable. Unfortunately Deans & the ARU desperately need players like JOC, Beale and Cooper and those guys know it. They know they can continually push the envelope and still escape serious discipline.

    10. Earning a quid. As long as I get a few hours kip when I finish a swing then (most importantly) get to bed reasonably early the next night, I can recover well. And I'm knocking on 60. These blokes have years of experience travelling across multiple timezones and managing their sleep. Pretty good chance they know what's needed.
