you are wasting your time trying to offer advice Hansie, some are more interested in playing the woe is me card, instead of considering some suggestions that may be of assistance to their club attracting Force players,if that is what they seek

You also set it up so that the dad's come round after work to join kiddie and Mum and buy a steak sandwhich at the canteen and sip some more wine while kiddie kicks a ball around with his mates and Mum starts watching EWF eye candy run around at Willie's beck and call. You probably pick up $150.00 from all the mum's and dad's sipping some wine and you pay your EWF player $100 for his coaching. You're already $50.00 better off than now. Yes he gets paid but he's working for it. At the same time you notice an extra 10 or 11 people at your Thursday night junior sessions and you also sell a few raffle tickets for injured player's fund, they hang around a wee longer to see if they have won a prize, another few bucks you don't have now.

You arrange it so said EWF player draws raffle prize, signs some Rocky memorabilia - EWF ego gets stroked, Rocky memorabilia gets sold and so you build from that.

    And then you wake up!

Tell us how successful that strategy was with Seymour coaching the Neddies Under 11's last year Hansie and how Rocky might learn from Neddies successes!

You make a good point but in relation to the alluded club who seem to be the focal point for 37 players hanging around it - this season there are, Whitts, Sam Christie and Ed Stubbs. There's the problem - they need one more.
That is the problem, they always want more ; those Cott bastards want the whole damn squad. Last year they had 12!

I know you are genuine in trying to offer suggestions Hansie and it is appreciated. After what has gone on you can't blame people for being sceptical. The onus is on the Force to show some genuine commitment to clubland in WA; the clubs have shown the love and its not working.

Most people in clubland think the Force players are a bunch of self centred buggers who have no links to WA and are only using Perth as a stepping stone to the next gig so why try to get involved. There is a mountain of evidence to support this whilst very little to offer any hint that things might improve.

Sharpey was the only shining light and he's gone now.

The overwhelming complaint seems to be that the Force are disconnected to the majority of perth clubs. This new initiative (or old depends which circle your in) will start the ball rolling on reconnecting the Force to grassroots rugby. Still, I think it's fair to say the outer clubs like Rocky, Kala, Baysie have a snowflakes chance of actually seeing any Force players.

Westie, the kick was touched. Everyone but the ref heard and saw it but thems the breaks. It made up for some average calls we've been getting lately.
That Lock was only 17 or 18? That's impressive.
The guy in 17 made an impact too when he came on.

Hansie - why you get on this site offering Rocky advice as if you are a friend - when you were instrumental in having Rocky placed in championship - keep your ideas to yourself - you show no integrity at all.

It is also offensive to the women of Rocky that they need to be sipping wine and perving. Actually it is offensive to the men as well

Slightly off the current thread topic, but I enjoyed the contest of the Kala v Wests 3rds clash. A couple of very even teams, both with their chances to win, if only they had a kicker...

RM - The experiment with Ben did go pear shaped, but with Lochie it was a huge success and essentially the idea posted was based on that success.

No probs if you guys want to bury RugbyWA for the past and blame current status on the past. No problem if you all do not make mistakes or errors in judgement. We do... all the time and will continue to do... so suck it up.

replace the word "wine" with "Emu Export" and it all makes sense.

    Go Neddies

No use making a thread of its own. It will turn out a cluster fuck anyway!

Club players face off against the Force

    By RugbyWA Media Unit

    Joe Savage
More than 25 representatives of the Pindan Premier Grade have gone head to head with the Emirates Western Force over the past week ahead of the club’s final match of the season against the Brumbies at nib Stadium on Saturday, 13 July.

The invited players took part across two full-contact, opposed training sessions against the Super Rugby province, at McGillivray Oval on Tuesday, 25 June and Scotch College on Tuesday, 2 July.

Emirates Western Force Head Coach Michael Foley says the initiative follows the success of the integration of selected Bankwest Academy members and Pindan Premier Grade players into the Emirates Western Force pre-season and training throughout this year’s Super Rugby season.

“These sessions have considerable benefits for all players involved – it provides a live training situation for the players within our squad, and it gives our local players a chance to test and develop themselves against a Super Rugby opposition,” he said.

“We’ve had great success by integrating local players into our training environment this season and it’s something that we’ll continue to do. It’s been excellent to have our professional players assist in the development of younger players like Luke Burton, Ollie Hoskins and Brad Lacey, who have all gone on to earn their place within the Australian Under 20 side.

“Bringing local players like Zack Holmes and Dane Haylett-Petty back to Perth is an acknowledgment of the development work taking place within the Western Australian rugby family and also provides incentive for young WA players aspiring to play at the highest levels of the game.”

    Pindan Premier Grade players involved:
Josh Beer (Wests Scarborough), Lukas Birch (Kalamunda), Preston Elama (Kalamunda), Daniel Faumuina (Associates), Richard Hardwick (UWA), Conor Higgins (Palmyra), Oliver Hoskins (Cottesloe), Tobias Hoskins (Cottesloe), Conan Houkamou (Wests Scarborough), Christian Joubert (UWA), Josh Katene (Wests Scarborough), Kane Koteka (Wests Scarborough), Brad Lacey (Wests Scarborough), Ryan Louwrens (Cottesloe), Amon Matuato (Associates), Pat McCarthy (UWA), Ray Moloney (Palmyra), Joelin Rapana (UWA), Michael Ruru (Nedlands), Joe Savage (Palmyra), Harry Scoble (UWA), Jeremy Smith (UWA), Bruce Smith-Wright (UWA), Corey Thomas (UWA), Scott Tolmie (Associates), Jacob Wilson (Nedlands).

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
