This is a badge that i wore on my black beret. No slouch hat for the elite Armoured Corp. Armoured Corp was born in WW1. Cambrai actually, in France.
Our ceremonial day was called Cambrai Day, after the first tank engagement in WW1. My unit B Squadron/ 3rd Cavalvry Regiment had a major role in the battle of Long Tan, a watershed event in our military history. One of my Sargeants, Norm Massey was awarded the Military Medal(1 down from a VC)
for bravery.
