On Beale though, has it been revealed whether he's actually an alcoholic? I was under the impression he was just one of those folks who turns into an arse when he drinks a bit; in other words, just a bad drunk, that's all.

Not trying to be the judge and jury on JO'C, but I've always thought that there must be some real problems with this guy, when Beale and Cooper can have documented incidents and still stay on; yet JO'C gets his marching orders. I mean, we've only really heard about the Airport and Hungry Jack's incidents. As GIGS20 mentioned in his post, Cooper's offences are well-documented; while Kurtley Beale got into a punch-up on the team-bus, with one of the most respected players in the competition no less; yet the first to go from the Rebels was JO'C!

I wonder what it is about this guy, that he makes those incidents pale into comparison? I mean such a great player, yet NO-ONE WANTS HIM.

True, but I think Beale was dealt with more gently because he is an alcoholic and needs support more than punishment. That's the only way I can rationalise why he wasn't cut like they've cut JOC.

I reckon if they wanted to take that stance he should have been stood down for at least the rest of the year.
