Australia win Dubai Women's Sevens

Australia stunned the crowds in Dubai on Friday as they beat New Zealand in a thrilling final to claim round one of the IRB Women's Sevens World Series.

Sharni Williams' side were behind for most of the final but managed to claw their way back, and ran out eventual winners 35-27.

I watched their semi and they looked really good, but hadn't seen the NZ wummun, so was pleasantly surprised to see the result. Good onya girls!

Watched their semi and final..superb stuff particularly the final where they came from 3 tries down. Realistically, there are plenty of countries that could take out the Olympics (judging by the games in Dubai) and me thinks the women's tourney at the Olympics is going to be quite entertaining.
