    "round","match_date","kick off time","home team","away team","venue","home_tries","home_convs","home_pens ","home_dg","away_tries","away_convs","away_pens", "away_dg"

eg: if Force A played Reds A in round 1 at nib 4pm Christmas day and won 44 (5T,5C,3P,0DG) - 0 the line would read:
    "1","2014-12-25","16:00:00","ForceA","RedsA","nib Stadium","5","5","3",0","0","0","0","0"

If there is no score (ie. match not yet played) skip the extra fields.
I see what you did there.....!!!!

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

Can we change the tipping to auto pick the home team? ie, if you forget to get your tips in, it defaults to the home team, say by 7 points?

getting 0 sucks just because you missed the deadline, or illness etc.

I don't like that idea, what if all home teams win and you get them by default and somebody who has actually put tips in goes for all away teams and gets nil. Not fair at all IMHO.

The only "possible" way to avoid nil (apart from tipping the whole season up front and making weekly changes) is for those people who don't or forget to tip, to get equal points to the lowest score that was actually tipped for that week.

I kina think if you miss it, you miss it. I've already put my tips in for the entire season 'just in case'.

However, I should be able to go with awarding lowest points scored in a round to those that forgot or join late...

But don't think I will be able to do this retrospectively ...

I have been tipping every week, except the last, i was crook and the last place i looked was at my tipping. as a result, i get a big fat doughnut for my time. which makes it very hard to get back in the game.

That is there fault for tipping badly! Coach could do a quick study of previous rounds to see who would win by default. This method is used in every tipping competition that i have seen or been in.

I would actually have it all home teams and the Force.

better than nothing i guess, but if the start of the season was prefilled as home (or force), then there are no issues.

And the key being "prefilled" or "making an effort", something for nothing is just not fair, regardless of how little or how much IMHO.

Did you check your Facebook or twitter on Friday

Their fault for missing the deadline or not tipping in advance. Whilst you may have had a legitimate excuse, the same could not vbe said for all who forget to get their tips in.

However, if you miss the closing time you can send me an email/PM and I can slip in the tips for matches yet to be played.

I've used this method for my tips so far this season and am coming second

We're not everyone else I haven't looked at others for a long time, but when I made this tipping software up I don't think anyone else includes finals in their comps, or gave margin points, or all correct bonus, or the possibility to tip a draw.

I've gone with missed rounds get same points as worst tipper of the round. Keeps people who don't get their tips in for some reason in the game without giving them a possible advantage.

Thanks, Sometimes you just get caught up on other things (illness, babies etc) and don't remember, or go camping for a week and not remember to fill em in the week before.

I will have to check out your approach to tipping Darren, see if i can get up. In any case, i have set a number of weeks in advance to try and avoid the issue.

Having looked at the code, not sure when I will be able to implement, but can probably hack something up andshould be able to apply retrospectively for this season.

I guess there is no rush, as it will be retrospective. But hey, bye weekend

I've now put this in place. As it turns out, Palitu - you got "25" points (the lowest anyone scored) for round 6 where you didn't get your tips in and 26 points for round 7 where you did

Also found a bug where all correct bonus points got awarded twice and fixed this up, so there has been a minor reshuffle of the ladder.
