Why was Shepherd Dropped?

Is it just me or has there being a decidedly lack of information released about why Shepherd was dropped. I have not read one quote about it from Conolly.

Was it just rotation? Did he do something wrong?

I for one am puzzled why they would drop him? They now have two centres on the bench and no outside backs to cover Latham.... He has been fairly injury prone this S14 season.

I guess the theory is they can move Rogers to cover him if he's injured.. still I haven't heard anything either..... interesting
