I believe that the Rebels asked for a scrum feed for their penalty so that they could waste time and get close to the siren, the ref merely put his hand up the wrong way at first

Watched the replay again yesterday after having cooled down from Friday's emotional low and we did not do all that badly.

We started slow but the Rebels came out firing after last years match.

We do not have x factor players and have been happy to accept the situation as it made the team a better cohesive unit, therefore we cannot expect our players to produce x factor moments to change a game.

Lets not forget our defence caught a lot of teams off guard last year, this year they are wiser.

The problem being a perceived weaker team or one of the strongest every team lifts against you, the weaker to ensure that they get the points preferably a bonus point and against the strongest to test your strength.

We are all happy to see WA boys out playing, however they are still developing and need time to catch up the strong rugby nurseries, therefore this constant negativity does not help.

Lets get behind our boys as the reason for the Super 15 in Perth was to provide a pathway for our kids to Super 15 level rugby not to win it, although that would be nice

True Tazz-comments were made last time that we didn't mind them losing so long as they went out and had a go and they looked like they were trying pretty hard to me. They do seem to be getting better each week, despite the stubborn ball kicking. Quick chats to some of them after the game indicated they were also pretty pissed off with the Hoff, who seems to be totally anti Force. Maybe there's another one who needs to be stood down, coz he didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing half the time. Also the number of times he kept standing in the way when Alby and Ian were trying to distribute the ball was plain dumb. Surely refs should have more commonsense to actively stay out of the way the balls gonna go - I've noticed it in a few other teams matches before.

Through the sports ears the ref actually pinged the Rebels for time wasting (player walking extremely slowly to the ball and then not taking the kick to touch to wind down the last 30 secs on the clock to prevent a lineout happening) and ruled a scrum and indicating that the Force had the feed but then changing it to a Rebels feed due to them having won the initial penalty. Unfortunately on the broadcast Fox cuts to a replay and the time wasting isn't shown.

Shame, that's nearly 5,000 down on the first home game, although the weather forecast might have played a part.

yup, thats exactly what happened. They took almost a minute standing around not playing the ball, then the refereeing fiasco. Should have been a yellow card to the kicker for not picking up the ball and kicking it, then a penalty reversal to give the ball to the Force.

First home game was a Kiwi game - they are always better attended because all the ex-pats come out of the woodwork.

That mostly applies to Crusaders and Chiefs games though so still a big drop-off

After the way we played against the 'Canes why would people bother to turn up in the rain to watch the game against the Rebels?

The big numbers for the Chiefs and Crusaders have a lot more to do with our kiwi brethren wanting to watch the Force get hammered so they can brag about how much better the kiwis are at rugby than the convicts. This is shown by how many of them wear the wrong jerseys and know little to nothing about rugby.
