First time in 12 years of gold membership that I've walked out of a game before it finished.
Some things are just too painful to watch anymore.
The Boys played well they played with guts .. They played hard.. Dickie is a great work horse.. The tall timber in Coleman,, RHP.. Karmichael , and Arnold all did well Nasa and Hodgo Warriors.. Newsome and Verity Am did really well on the wings.. DHP played good with ball in hand and Bugger all kicking.. Ruru was left wanting at the base of the scrums as ball was slow.. Frot row did very well considering they were playing against the REF a lot of the time.. Just a Gutsy Game bring that to the TAHS and REBels games and it might get us a 2nd in conference
Thought it was exciting and certainly didn't expect us to be in it so much until late in the second half! That yellow sucked and such BS!!!
Well I'm not completely disheartened by that. We were never seriously expected to win and we held onto them right up until Hollywood perenara and blind Freddie Hoffman teamed up to shift us.
Canes played clever kiwi rugby, that is they ran it hard as hell, figured out what the ref wasn't going to call and pushed it as far as they could.
This week it was not pushing straight, until they were penalised 2 scrums in a row, then they went to arm binds on the tight head.
Head high tackles were a feature, along with hands all over the ball in the red zone.
They played Hoffman like a cheap fiddle. Good on them. I thought they were looking frustrated at the 60 minute mark.

Yep. Was the refs fault we could convert about 50,000,000 minutes of possession in the Hurricanes 22 into points.
Having said that I thought the DHP yellow was soft, what he supposed to do? Turn invisible?

Good question!
I felt there were things to be really pleased about and things to be disappointed with in that game
Really pleased with the intensity and effort
Thought there were a number of very good individual performances and great that we strung phases together well, particularly in the opposition half
Kicking game also much improved (and reduced)
Also happy that the attendance seemed to be much higher than recent home games
Don't recall a single shot for penalty goal by either team - both trying to entertain
Loved Richie's strength and determination to score that last try
Disappointed that we couldn't close out and score when we dominated possession and field position so much
Also that we lost our own throw on at least two line outs near the goal line
Also that our scrum got over-powered on too many occasions, at least Hoffman finally figured out the Canes were boring up in the front row
Bloody disappointed that the score blew out on the back of a bullshit yellow card, while the opposition were warned at least four times and only got a yellow when the game was effectively over
Overall quite proud of the effort that we put in against a much more credentialed side
Oh come on guys don't pick on the ref he only decides the game for everyone! Gee whiz he's only human and has people's professions in his hands! Misunderstood that's all!
Come on Jargs man surely you might have noticed a couple of inadequacies in tonight's officiating?
