Wallabies star Kurtley Beale walks out on Waratahs weeks before season restart

Kurtley Beale’s time with the Waratahs is seemingly over with the star back granted an early release from his contract, reports The Sydney Morning Herald .

Beale still had four months to go on his contract with the Waratahs and Rugby Australia, but has been allowed to renege on the deal by both parties as he looks to be in tip-top condition for his move to French Rugby club Racing 92 later in the year.

The early exit means Beale will not be involved when Super Rugby AU kicks off in the first week of July.

The utility back has not been at training with the Waratahs all week, which the NSW side put down to flu-like symptoms on Friday.
He was then pictured at a boat party organised by former radio presenter Alan Jones. By that stage an amicable release had already been agreed upon.

Beale, 31, debuted for the Waratahs in 2007 as an 18-year-old, spending all but two of his seasons in Super Rugby with his home state.

This will be the second time he has played franchise rugby in the northern hemisphere, after running out for UK side Wasps in 2016.
Having represented the Wallabies 92 times, Beale will still be eligible to play for his country under ‘Giteau’s law’.

Earlier this month the veteran said he is still hoping to play at the 2023 World Cup.

Oh dear, what a shame. The Waratahs have lost their vice captain. Goodbye and good riddance!
